RECOVERY
26th May | 7 – 11pm SES Building McNamara St, Cairns
Head for high ground this month, with The Upholstery Contemporary Arts as they take temporary shelter at the Cairns SES Buildings, and unveil their latest multi-sensory art extravaganza Recovery.
The first of The Upholstery’s six highly anticipated exhibitions for 2006, Recovery is a collaborative exhibition between four local female artists, exploring various aspects and processes of recovery. From the long hard road left behind by Cyclone Larry, to data loss, infidelity or just getting over that huge night out!
Featuring four of the North Queensland’s freshest emerging artists Gabrielle Cooney, Deanna Maich, Caroline Mudge and Romy Siegmann, |
the exhibition will include several bodies of work, including paintings, photography, assemblage, digital works and installations.
DJ Fred will be calming the masses with his silky smooth style and the Green Ant Cantina will be rationing out snacks and emergency alcohol supplies.
The Upholstery is proudly supported by Arts Queensland and Artworkers, Justpurple New Media and the Green Ant Cantina.
Funds raised at this show will be donated to the SES. Thanks to the 3 minute angels for their support.
