THE DEATH SHOW

opens 8th June 7:00pm till 11pm at 61 Sheridan St (the old Unisex Body Grooming building).

This June The Upholstery has dug up the freshest undead Artists in Far North Queensland, to bring you its latest Frankinstein of an art experience…. The Death Show.

Death can take many forms.... it is the inevitable, the final curtain, time to meet your maker, going down six ft under or on to Heaven or Hell.
But death is not always a sad thing.
Many cultures celebrate it... rituals, feasts, parades and dancing. Hollywood make a living out of it, conjuring up images of the living-dead, spirits, zombies, ghosts...
The Death Show  is a celebration of all that is dead or dying, ending, resurrecting, rotting or remembering.

The Death Show will feature the freshest emerging and developing artists in Far North Queensland, including Bexley Birrell, Nicola Bryars, Nick Charlton, Anna Holan, Diverse Dance, Dominic Johns, Caroline Mudge, Neil Parker, Simon Poole, Kane Raybould, David Rowe,

Beth Shorter, Judith Taylor, Kristen Tennyson, Marcel Varna, Corspe Veronese, Daniel Wallwork, Laila Whiteing and Michael Winer .

Artworks include paintings, sculpture, performance, street art, installation, assemblage, prints, mosaics, drawings and video projections, with live/dead music from DERO - Death to Rock n Roll and live/dead video and vision manipulations by Blake Hudson.

Greenant Cantina will be catering the wake with a licenced bar and snacks, ENTRY IS FREE and all are welcome (living and the dead).

This is a one night only art experience!
